“The sure way to miss success is to miss the opportunity”- Victor Chasles
Many who enter adult life expect big opportunities to be handed out to them as part of the package. Except for the very fortunate, life doesn’t work that way – you have to make that break yourself. When it comes to leadership and reaching goals, it is important to take the next step.
Now Read: Stretching into The Energy ZoneOne of our outdoor leadership and teambuilding activities is rock-climbing. Here delegates scale up the vertical face using slight protrusions of rock as a finger hold, a narrow crack as a foot support or a slight ledge to grasp as they labour slowly to the top.
In the review we ask them “Did anyone fall?” The answer is invariably “No”.
Why?
Because, although secured by a safety rope, they still did not want to fall [or substitute ‘fall’ with ‘fail’]. They had to use every little opportunity, every tiny grip to attain their objective without crashing.
Drive your leg upward and you WILL find that slender gap in the rock-face of life. And having passed that barrier, you learn with amazement at what small supports can sustain you in your quest forward.
All you have to do is take that next step!
